£607 raised for charity by local leisure centre chain

£607 has been raised for Breast Cancer Now by leisure centre chain Everyone Active. The money was raised through a football tournament, where players paid £4 to play. Money was also raised through a raffle which included a signed Middlesbrough FC ball.

The charity tournament took place at Middlesbrough Sports Village, a branch of Everyone Active, on Saturday, 22 March, using their Astroturf facilities. There were four different teams with each team representing a local leisure centre.

The main raffle prize was a signed ball donated by Middlesbrough FC. Goodies like wine and chocolate were also up for grabs.

Event organiser Kirsty Mcquilling said: “My mum beat breast cancer 10 years ago, so Breast Cancer Now is a cause I can really appreciate.

“I am pleased with the money raised and we will definitely have these events again next year.”
