Teesside Hospice Midnight Walk raised an amazing £52,000. The remarkable charity event took place on 22 March, bringing together the community in support of a vital cause.
The participants donned their walking shoes and embarked on their journey with their head boppers sitting high – as well as their spirits. They walked 11km from Redcar to Marske and back again in support of the Hospice.
Sponsorship money is still coming through from the event, so the final total is expected to grow.
This year’s walk saw an impressive turnout with around 700 Teessiders gathering in aid of the charity.
Kyla de Lehenstein Collins, Director of Income Generation at Teesside Hospice, said: “We’re so grateful for all the support for our Midnight Walk, from those who participated to our wonderful volunteers and staff team that made it happen.”
The funds raised from the Midnight Walk will go directly towards enhancing the services offered by Teesside Hospice, an organisation that supports more than 3,000 local people per year with the aim of helping those with terminal illness by providing them with the correct treatment and care and helping them to live as well as possible for as long as possible.
The event not only served as a fundraiser but also a reminder of the importance of supporting local healthcare initiatives.
As the night concluded, participants left with a sense of achievement and a renewed commitment to helping those in need, proving once again that together we can make a difference.
