For many, it is a common belief that a fresh start within our lives is essential in allowing our minds to be liberated. Throughout this year, it has been challenging for everyone to deal with constant change and uncertainty, which cause stress and anxiety levels to increase. We face numerous issues every day; some from the outer world and other people and some from our internal thoughts, therefore we should aim to protect our wellbeing more often.
Regardless of the type of struggles people experience, it is important to acknowledge that it is possible to create a new beginning for your mental health, even if this proves to be difficult. There are many unique ways of giving your mind a fresh start, some of which are mentioned in the video below.
About Me
Hi, my name is Lauren Armstrong and I am a Media and Communications student in the first year of my degree at Teesside University.
Biography
From a young age, different aspects of the media intrigued me, from advertising, film, television, and media production. This interest has developed in recent years through my study of Media and Photography prior to attending University. Studying media has already allowed me to investigate how it plays an integral role in how we interact our opinions and reactions to the events surrounding us. The media itself is a constant presence that has become essential to society and I am fascinated by the different techniques people within the media use to convey information. I am excited and hopeful that my degree will allow me to further explore the impact that media has on daily life.
Work Experience
Although I have not yet completed any work experience relating to the media, this is something I am looking forward to hopefully doing during my degree. I have previously done work experience in a local primary school in which I spent time working with young children. During that week, my skills of time management, planning, team working and communication with both adults and children were enhanced, which has benefited how I present my ideas.
Interests
My interests include watching films, listening to and playing music, reading, writing and photography. I also enjoy spending time with family and volunteering within my community as often as possible.
