TASK 1 PHOTOGRAPHY: “GONE BANANAS”
Inspiration & Motivation: Lockdown āGone Bananasā Lockdown for many has been an experience of repetitive days, isolation, and a variety
Read moreMy background is in creative arts and design in the public sector. I worked in London for several years in marketing and communication roles at University of the Arts, London before joining Teesside University in 2015.
As a naturally visual person, I have a keen interest in visual communication and I am always on the lookout for innovative ideas to create and enhance content to widen audiences and increase engagement.
I have loved film from a very young in, in particular, film noir. The combination of the cynical hero, the simplicity of black & white film and ethereal atmosphere provide a complete escape for me as a viewer.
As a content creator, I aim to use simple yet compelling visuals to tell a story, a message, or evoke an emotion. I am interested in the idea of using artists I love as an inspiration, those who use simple yet compelling content, Mark Rothko, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Mickalene Thomas.
My aspirations from this course are to develop a way of using the kind of visuals I am drawn to as an individual in a more professional and commercial context.
