*Can you tell us a bit about your EP launch party?*
We wanted to put on a party to celebrate the release of our new EP “Fake Emergency” (Available on all digital platforms October 18th). So we decided to go a big and get together a load of our favourite artists in one of our favourite venues for one big all-dayer. It will be a day full of great music, good times, sequins, confetti and dancing!
Plus it will be the first chance for people to purchase our brand new t-shirts that we are super excited for everyone to see.
*Can you tell us about some of the artists playing on the day? Why did you choose that lineup?
From the off, our aim was to put together a lineup we knew would put on an amazing show. So we went to artists that we had played with or seen over the last year that we knew would do just that.
The Seamonsters, emotion packed, fantastic guitar lines and an all-round summery feeling. We played with at the Westgarth earlier in the year and absolutely adored them so knew straight away we had to get them to come play.
Club Paradise, we have followed the band since playing with them their early days under their former moniker Street Party In Soho. Their indie-rock meets shimmering electronica style, complements the brilliant storytelling that makes Club Paradise such a relatable quartet.
Uptown Monotones, we played with a festival in Shropshire back in May and all agreed that they were one of the best acts we had ever seen. How 3 people can create the sound they do and be so much fun to watch at the same time… they really have to be seen to believed.
We could talk about the rest of the acts in the same way. A lot of work has been put into pulling together a lineup that will make it a party to remember.
*The event’s held at the Westgarth, why did you pick to host it at that specific venue?*
The Westgarth is an absolute stalwart of the local scene and we have played some fantastic gigs this year with Red Rum Club, Fling and The Seamonsters so it seemed like the obvious place to host the launch party.

*What can we expect when listening to the EP itself?*
“Fake Emergency” has been described as a synth-heavy, pop-ridden, joy-filled release. After our last EP “Another Commotion” was so well received it gave us the confidence to springboard straight into these songs.
Lyrically it details the pressure of life in general and methods of escaping those pressures and mental health issues.
“Answerphone” is about burying your head in the sand.  While “I Will Be There” is an appeal for people not to suffer in silence and for friends not to allow friends to suffer in silence. “Scream! Clap Your Hands” is aimed at the undue stress and strain politics can force upon people and their relationships and you know, fuck it – let’s have a dance instead. Having fun is more important than putting yourself through the wringer. Finally “Paranoid” is about err, well… paranoia!
