As part of LGBT History Month, Teesside University hosted a lunch and learn event in The Curve with transgender speaker Phillippa Scrafton this week.
Phillippa Scrafton, Programmes Officer at Stonewall, shared her story with people in attendance and gave advice on how places of work can be more welcoming for the LGBT workforce.
Stonewall is an LGBT equality charity that supports individuals on making a difference for LBGT people at work.
We spoke to Phillippa after her presentation to ask how students can help make Teesside University more diverse and accepting of the LGBT community.
Phillippa’s main message? Get involved!
Teesside University were recently placed 67th in Stonewall’s annual top 100 list of places for LGBT employees to work in Britain. The only North East university to do so.
