Teesside Lions show their teeth as they maul Sheffield Elite.
Teesside University’s Lions Basketball team is in red hot form with an unbeaten start to the season.
The club has registered five wins out of five so far.
And top scorer this season is team captain and seven foot tall Theo Turner who carried his great start to the season into this game adding 15 points and 23 rebounds to his ever growing tally which now stands at: 86 points and 89 rebounds.
The Lions look formidable whether it be at Home or Away this season and are looking to carry on this current form and reach the play-offs for a second season in a row.
Teesside Lions have extended their unbeaten run in the league this season by demolishing Sheffield Elite Academy in their latest game by 96 points to 61.
Teesside were crowned Division Three Northern Champions and Division Three National Champions last season after a great season only losing once all season.
The Lions beat fourth seeded Bristol in the Quarter final and then top seeded and unbeaten St Helens in the semi-final to progress into the play-off final where they triumphed over Worcester Wolves by Nine points.
TUXtra spoke to Theo Turner after the game to see what his thoughts are on why the team are doing so well, their aims for this season including his own personal goals.

“Playing with confidence definitely helps” was one of the main reasons Turner outlined as why the team is doing so well this season.
Big achievements on and off the court for Turner as he was posted by one of the biggest basketball social media platforms in the UK “HoopsFix”.
The Lions are looking forward to their next three home games and hoping they can repeat what they have shown in their previous fixtures against Myerscough Academy and Calderdale Explorers who they play twice, once before and once after the Myerscough fixture.
