Journalism students from Teesside University recently attended the Student Radio Conference in Salford, where they gained valuable insights and skills to enhance their future careers in media.
The conference, held over three days, brought together aspiring journalists and industry professionals for a series of workshops, panels, and networking opportunities.
Some of the TUXtra team were able to go to the conference due to the university being a part of the Student Radio Association who organised this event.

Ella Wilson, third-year journalism student said: “I really enjoyed it. It was a great opportunity to meet new people who are also interested in student radio and hear from incredible industry professionals.
“I also gained a lot of knowledge from the talks, and I feel like I really benefited from it.
“I’d definitely recommend it to anyone else involved in student radio if they’re as passionate it as I am.”

Ben Sedgwick, second-year sports journalism student said: “It was fun. I got lots of insights from industry professionals and learnt what they’re looking for and that will really help me with my future work.
“I’m really looking forward to the one next year, I’d recommend anyone who is interested to make sure they go next year.”
