Premier League Look Ahead

The Premier League is back this weekend for Matchday 25 with some great games on TV so I’ve had a looked ahead at a few of the televised games.

Brighton v Chelsea: 8:00 PM Friday

The first match of the game week is a Friday night fixture between Brighton and Chelsea. They previously played each other last weekend in the 4th Round of the FA Cup with Brighton prevailing on the night in a 2-1 win, that had some controversy due to a Kaoru Mitoma goal in the second half.

In the league, Chelsea find themselves 4th in the league and are coming into this match on a 2-1 win, last time out in the league against West Ham. Brighton are 10th in the league and in their last league game, they were on the wrong end of a 7-0 defeat to highflying Nottingham Forest. Both teams are capable of a great performance so this game should be a fun one for a Friday night live on Sky

Leicester City v Arsenal:  12:30 PM Saturday

The early kick off on Saturday finds struggling Leicester City welcome title hopefuls Arsenal to the King Power Stadium.

Arsenal look to close the seven point gap between themselves and Liverpool. Leicester City will be looking for a win that could get them out of the bottom three.

Leicester come into the game off a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA cup where a controversial last minute goal from Harry Maguire knocked Leicester out of the cup.

In the league, Leicester lost to Everton 4-0 last time out but had previously beaten struggling Tottenham 2-1 the game prior so they will want to complete the double over two North London clubs.

Arsenal will be looking to rebound after a loss during the week to Newcastle in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Before that in their last league game Arsenal blew Manchester City out of the water with a 5-1 win so The Gunners will be looking to bring that form into this 12:30 kick off live on TNT Sports.

Crystal Palace v Everton: 5:30 PM Saturday

In the late game on Saturday, Crystal Palace welcome Everton to Selhurst Park in a game where both teams will be looking carry on good form.

Crystal Palace come into the game after a 2-0 win in the FA Cup against Doncaster and before that a 2-0 win against Manchester United. Palace will want to carry on their form of only one loss in their last nine games.

Everton will be on coming into the game on a high after securing a last-minute draw in the last every Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Since David Moyes has come in, he has won three games and one draw in six games since returning to the club.

Everton will be without a few players so you would imagine Palace will be the favourites for this one live on Sky.

Liverpool v Wolves: 2:00 PM Sunday

Liverpool will have two games within the week with the first being the early game on the Sunday against Wolves.

Liverpool will be wanting to keep their lead at the top of the table with a win against a struggling Wolves side. Liverpool will want to get back to winning form in this one after being held to a draw by Everton on Wednesday and a loss to Plymouth Argyle who are currently 23rd in the Championship in the FA Cup.

Wolves come into the game after two wins. One in the cup against Blackburn Rovers 2-0 and in their last league match against Aston Villa where Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Matheus Cunha helped Wolves win 2-0.

This is an important week for Liverpool in terms of the league as two wins will help keep them top and potentially gain a bigger lead against Arsenal. The game has potential to be very important to the league so many will be watching on Sky.

Spurs v Manchester United: 4:30PM Sunday

Two struggling teams meet when Tottenham and Manchester United face off to find out who is more in trouble out of Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim.

Spurs have been struggling this season and coming into this game they have lost their last two. One in the FA Cup 4th round against Aston Villa 2-1 and a Carabao semi-final against Liverpool 4-0. Their last league game was a 2-0 win against Brentford so they will want to find that form as they face The Red Devils.

United come into the game after a 2-1 win in the FA Cup 4th round where a late Harry Maguire goal helped The Red Devils move to the next round of the cup, even with some controversy around the goal. In their last league game, United lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace in a poor performance from the side and the players will have to turn up for this game as the fan’s patience is running very thin on the squad.

Both teams will be without key defensive players with Spurs still missing their defensive duo Cristian Romero and Mickey Van de Ven. Manchester United recently losing Lisandro Martinez to an ACL injury and Luke Shaw who has only played two league games this season.

This has the potential to go all sorts of ways as both teams have proven they can turn up on the day, but can also both be poor, so any result is plausible for this game live on Sky.

Liverpool v Aston Villa: 7:30PM Wednesday

In Liverpool’s second game of the week, they travel to Villa Park to play Unai Emery’s Aston Villa on a Wednesday night.

Liverpool will be wanting to go two for two this week after they hope to beat Wolves on Sunday and get a result against a solid Villa side. Liverpool should also be back with Curtis Jones who was sent off at the end of the Merseyside derby who had a one-match ban which he will have served against Wolves.

Aston Villa will also play their second game in the week after welcoming Ipswich Town to Villa Park on Saturday at 3:00 PM. Villa come into the game after beating Spurs in the 4th round of the FA Cup 2-1 which they will want to carry on that form into league leaders Liverpool. This game has all the potential to be a high-level game between two great managers and strong squads that just like the Wolves game may have big implications on the league come the end of the season which makes Wednesday night at 7:30PM a great watch on TNT Sports.

This should be another exciting week in the Premier League with some exciting games that may have big implications for the league at the end of the season.
