SALTBURN SING, DANCE AND CLAP FOR KEY WORKERS

The Saltburn community come together to sing, dance and clap.

The streets of Saltburn are filled with singing, dancing and clapping as the community come together to support NHS staff and key workers.

Saltburn Sing at Six are gathering in their front gardens, in the streets and even on balconies in a socially distanced celebration of the work that is being done.

Everyday they sing at 6pm to classics such as Lean on Me by Bill Withers and Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader.

The group, set up by the Saltburn Coronavirus Response Group, aim to spread some joy in the community and wider.

Seb Kerr, who is part of the group, said: “Seeing the uplifting videos in Italy of the community coming together, I thought we had to do something similar in Saltburn.

“The idea behind it was just to try and think of ways to interact with neighbours in a socially distant way.

“It is a show of solidarity at this difficult time for everyone and allows us all to connect with song.”

TUXtra spoke to Seb about Saltburn Sing at Six.
