On 17 March every year, Ireland (and the world) celebrates St Patrick’s Day.
The patron saint of Ireland brought Christianity to Ireland. Many other legends grew up around him. For example, it is said he drove all the snakes out of Ireland and that he used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity.
Nowadays, of course, St Patrick’s Day is better known as a general celebration of Irish culture.
In Middlesbrough there is no shortage of events happening.
